Plenty of Hanukkah books tell the story. Few let your child be in it: lighting the menorah, spinning the dreidel, leading the songs, with their name and face on every page. This one is written and drawn for your family.
The same page at every reading level. Pick one to see how the story reads.

Hannah spins the toy! Whir, whir, whir! Round it goes fast. Grandpa claps his hands. Shiny gold coins clink! Will it tumble down? Wobble, wobble, plop! "Yay!" cheers Hannah.
Hannah gave the wooden top a twist. It pirouetted across the soft rug. "Look at it spin!" laughed Grandpa. Gold chocolate coins waited nearby. Hannah watched the painted letters blur. "Please land on Gimel!" she begged. The little top tipped and wobbled. Everyone cheered around the glowing room.
Hannah gave the carved wooden dreidel a sharp, practiced snap of her fingers. It hummed across the braided yarn rug, a spinning blur of blue and gold beneath the warm candlelight. "Look at that speed!" Grandpa cried, rocking forward with an open grin. A tempting pile of foil-wrapped chocolate gelt shimmered between them, waiting for a winner. Hannah held her breath as the spinner wobbled, desperate for the winning letter to face the ceiling.
With a flick of her wrist, Hannah set the wooden dreidel whirling across the circular braided rug. It spun like a dizzy dancer beneath the steady amber glow of the menorah, blurring the Hebrew letters into a bright blue ribbon. Across from her, Grandpa leaned forward with delighted anticipation, his hands poised as if he could catch the spinning top by magic. A scattered treasury of foil-wrapped chocolate coins glimmered beside a painted ceramic bowl. Surrounded by family laughter, Hannah forgot the crutches resting by the couch and simply willed the spinning miracle to land on gold.

The best Hanukkah memories are the rituals: the same blessing, the same songs, the same gelt under the same menorah. A personalized Hanukkah book joins that ritual as the story they reach for every December. It also helps when a classmate asks what Hanukkah is.
Years from now, the picture of them at four, lighting the shamash, is the one the family remembers.
