Cocooned in radiant yarn, he felt the familiar weight of ordinary worries dissolve into wonder. Behind him, every embroidered dream broke free from the fabric in strokes of luminous phosphor. A swooping emerald dragon, an incandescent rocket, and a celestial tower dusted the sky with stardust. Mateo reached toward the watchful moon, grinning as the quiet town drifted far below, peaceful in its slumber.
